How to Clean and Care for Your Blender and Juicer (So They Last for Years)
Fruit pulp and sticky residue are tough on machines — left to dry, they stain jars, dull blades, and breed bacteria. A few minutes of routine care keeps your machine hygienic and running strong.
The 30-second self-clean
For blenders, fill the jar halfway with warm water and a drop of dish soap, then run it for 20–30 seconds and rinse. Doing this right after use, before anything dries, clears most residue without any scrubbing.
Clean every part
- Jar & lid: wash with warm soapy water; check if they're dishwasher-safe.
- Blades: rinse carefully — they're sharp — and dry to prevent dulling and rust.
- Juicer mesh filter: brush out trapped pulp immediately; dried pulp is the hardest to remove.
- Motor base: wipe with a damp cloth only — never submerge it in water.
Tackle stains and smells
- Remove cloudy buildup with a baking soda paste or a vinegar-water rinse.
- Banish odors by blending water with a slice of lemon, then rinsing.
- Air-dry parts fully before reassembling to prevent musty smells.
Protect the motor
- Never run the machine empty or overload it past the max line.
- Give it short rests during heavy tasks like crushing ice.
- Keep the cord and base dry, and unplug before disassembling.
Bottom line: Do a quick self-clean right after every use, wash each part properly (keeping the motor base dry), and never overload it — that's how your blender and juicer stay hygienic, powerful, and reliable for years.
